How these comparisons are made

Three inputs, in order. First, current manufacturer specifications — deck size, included batteries, listed runtime, warranty terms — pulled from product pages at publication. Second, the arithmetic those specs imply: watt-hours per pack, watt-hours per cut for common yard sizes, and the runtime penalty a self-propelled drive adds (an estimate we label as one, because no manufacturer publishes consumption-per-mode figures). Third, the warranty terms read the way a claims department would — which part is covered, for how long, and which part actually fails.

What you won’t find: dollar prices (they change weekly and belong on the retailer page), star ratings copied from listings, or claims that anyone here pushed these mowers around a test lawn. The how-we-rate page explains the method in full.
