That sentence is required by the Amazon Associates program, and it’s also a fair one-line summary of this site’s entire business model. Here’s the longer version.
How the money works
Some links on WireFreeMower point to Amazon. If you click one and buy something within Amazon’s tagging window, Amazon pays this site a small percentage of that sale. The price you pay is exactly the same as if you’d typed the product name into Amazon yourself — the commission comes out of Amazon’s side, not yours.
We never see who bought what. Amazon reports aggregate clicks and earnings to us; it does not share your name, address, order contents, or browsing history with this site.
What commissions do not buy
- A spot in a guide. Mowers appear in “best of” lists because they earn it on specs, price band, and fit for the yard in question — not because a link is attached. Some recommended mowers have no link at all.
- A rating. Our rating vocabulary is a five-word editorial scale, deliberately unsellable. There are no numeric scores to inflate.
- A kind word about a flaw. Every mower we cover gets its watch-outs — weight, price, plastic decks, proprietary batteries — stated plainly. A commission is not worth a neighbor buying the wrong mower.
If a manufacturer offered us money for coverage (it happens in this industry), the answer would be no. The only revenue here is the Associates program described above.

- In a short disclosure box near the top of commercial articles, before the first buying link.
- On individual recommendation buttons, which are marked as links out to Amazon.
A note on prices
We deliberately do not publish prices or “current deal” claims. Prices on Amazon move constantly, and a stale number is worse than none. Every guide uses price bands (from $ = budget-friendly to $$$$ = flagship money) instead. Whatever you’d actually pay, Amazon shows you at the link — that number is always fresher than anything we could print.
